Easter is upon us!

  • It’s that time again in Arborea! The last few snowflakes are melting and the sun is starting to show itself a bit more. Spring started just a few days ago, which can only mean one thing… Easter festivities will follow shortly!

The bunnies around Arcadia have already started to paint their Easter eggs, and players throughout Arborea have started training their horses to be the first to search for them.

    Event #1: Egg Hunt!

    What’s this about?
Easter eggs will appear on our website and you have to find them all and discover the word we’re looking for. These eggs can only be found on the English version of our website and will be numbered from 1 to 7.

    From when to when?

This event will be held from the 28th of March (starting at 12:00 CET (11am UK)) until the 2nd of April (at 12:00 CEST (11am UK)).

    How can you participate?
You need to visit http://tera-europe.com/home.html and search for the different Easter eggs that we’ve hidden all over the place. After you find all of these eggs, you’ll have to send us the word as well as your character name and server to the following address: contest_en@tera-europe.com

    What can you win?
We will give out 9 TERA Standard Edition Keys (three per language) as well as a 30-day version of the new mount named “Rainbow” per server!

Event #2: Two Popori walk into a bar …

    What’s this about?
How do you think this sentence should end? This is your chance to share your thoughts with us! How can you carry the joke on?

    From when to when?
This event will be held from the 28th of March (starting at 00:00 CET (11pm UK)) until the 31st of March (at 23:59 CEST (10:59pm UK)).

    How can you participate?
All you have to do is follow @TERAEurope on Twitter, and tell us there what you think is the best way to finish this joke! Remember that you have to send your tweet to @TERAEurope as well.

    What can you win?
We will give out six TERA Standard Edition Keys (two per language) as well as one TERA roll-up for each language! We will contact the winners on Twitter and send them a direct message in early April!

    Event #3: Bounty Hunt!

    What’s this about?
We’ve received an increasing number of reports that certain BAMs have started to search for the Easter eggs too! We cannot allow them to steal these eggs so you need to hunt them down!

    From when to when?
This event will be held from the 29th of March (starting at 00:00 CET (11pm UK)) until the 31st of March (at 23:59 CEST (10:59pm UK)).

    How can you participate?
Go and find the BAM that corresponds to your level range. We were able, with Elleon’s help, to identify these thieves and create wanted posters:

    • Players from level 1 to 30 have to hunt “Basilisks” that lurk around Crescentia.
    • Players from level 31 to 50 have to hunt “Yearning Vulcans” which have been sighted in Val Aureum.
    • Players from level 51 to 59 have to hunt “Ebon Fimbrilisks” which are known to roam in Amena Quatla.
    • Players on level 60 should target “Arzakaar Guardians”, evil argon fellows that guard the ground in Granarkus.

After you’ve killed them, take a screenshot of your victory and submit it to our dedicated thread. Please add the name of your server, as well as the character’s name and gender to your post!

You may tackle these vile creatures together with your friends, although it is one submission per single player only. (Everyone has to submit their own screenshot)

    What can you win?
We will give out 30 Bunny Ears (7-day versions, 10 per language) for female characters, as well as 30 Winged Bands (7-day versions, 10 per language) for male characters.

By participating in this contest you accept our conditions of participation.

  • Well can't complain about three event/competitions... though I do question the fact that the ingame items are only 7/30 days.

If a huge number of people were going to win, then sure. But surely it's not much to ask that for winning a one-off contest like this that your tiny cosmetic item reward is permanent?

So no eggs to hunt in game, like last year?

    2nded , wth

please give us a copy+paste of the xmas event, we need semi-scrolls and other egg drops !

  • Yes, I was hoping for something similar to christmas event or the recent one on NA servers, that we can't talk about. :)

  • Okey my post was bad but why did you delete so many other posts that all had valid points? just HOW will this reward those of us who have been here since Beta?
We already have our CD-keys on our accounts....

  • Hey guys,

while we appreciate feedback, please watch your language and provide constructive feedback. We're doing whatever we can to provide some contests and events from time to time, but we're also limited when it comes to what we actually can provide and can do. Of course we would love to run fantastic in-game events and reward everyone with great prizes, but that's just not possible for us.

    Regards

  • Really? This is all you have to offer?

I'm the only one that think this event are just.. meh..

People wanna go something in the game not staring at your website all day finding eggs.. -.-

You could learn a thing or 2 with NA version of TERA...seriously..

  • most unworthy event ever. told that in the german topic too. im really disappointed to see whats the priority of a clients satisfaction.

  • When the St-Patricks Event was on-going in NA they already said they wont have that event here or any event for Easter. Just some contests.

But I dont understand, why not make the items permanently? I mean the Bunny ears and the Winged band. Cause 7 days is like nothing.. But its atleast something :)

As my post was removed i presume my constructive feedback of "you would have been better to do nothing than do this.." was not seen as constructive enough so i shall elaborate.

An Event should be fun and relevant. Offering an web based non event to in-game clients that is neither fun nor relevant to in-game community is going to be seen as an after thought rather than a genuine "Event" that is expected from MMO players across the net.

As i stated in my innital post your "idea" for your 3rd event.. Expecting a team of 5 players to group kill a bam, photograph it, edit this and create a poster for a "chance" to win a 7 day item.. seriously, there are 5 people involved all 5 would need to take time to create a poster, that takes time and alot of effort to create something competition worthy (which is what that actually is, a competition.. NOT an event) they may or may not win an item that only lasts 7 days????

Stating that it is "... just not possible" is really not going to cut it with any seasoned MMORPG gamer. If you are not liking the feedback that you are receiving then maybe you should consider the reason that the Feedback is so poor and also consider what you are actually offering as an "EVENT".

No offense but no one joined Tera to play on the forums, they are a tool for information exchange that is used sporadically not an alternative to in-game play or at least not for me or many others like me.

THIS IS NOT AN EVENT IT IS A COMPETITION

Of course we would love to run fantastic in-game events and reward everyone with great prizes, but that's just not possible for us.

This isnt really a comment about the event itself, more the choice of Gameforge to use time-limited items as rewards.

If it's possible to reward 30 people with 7 day bunny ears, is it necessarily any harder to reward those same 30 people with permanent bunny ears instead? The events/competitions themselves are always appreciated, but rewarding winners with 7 day versions of an item that many players would love to own permanently almost feels a little upsetting.

Doing a one-off competition for a permanent item is fun and would encourage a lot of entries. But for a 7 day small cosmetic item?

  • Wow you sure are fast to delete post...Thats the only thing you are fast about.

Now what would you think constructive?
Apparently showing my dislike to the event isn't constructive enough.

Would you like to answer to the question i said,Raven? Why can't you do events when everyone else can? Don't you have the exact same tools?

    Well here:

Timed rewards = Never do this on event. Big nono.
Event not ingame = Another very big nono.

If you can put in timed rewards, you can also put in the permanent rewards then.
So do at least that and you will save what is left to save.Probably wont help much but its a step in right direction.

Nobody wants to stare the website, people want to play the game.

My last post wasn't offensive in any way, except that i showed my utter dislike to this "event".

Why is it not possible for you?

That's admitting you're second-rate to Enmasse and the same as saying we're terrible and we are only going to give 'crap' content.

    Not very wise words.

This event is not even worth doing!

What happened to St.Patrick's day event?

Oh but you'll gladly give us an Easter Event that has time limited items...

This is proof GF does not care, even when you collect all this negative feedback the higher ups can easily say, "heh, who care? Not us because we can get away with it!"

Come on GF... stop rubbing salt on the wounds of the loyal player base that has been around since beta!

  • Euhm hello raven ,
Im talking in peace here but i just want 1 answer please answer me .

I have played the korean version,
I have played eu version when it released ,
I moved to tera enmasse because like a year ago very few players played In EU, also left gameforge because enmasse was doing a much better job

So yea i have been on all tera versions and enmasse is realy doing a good job ,

    Life support
    Ingame gamemasters
    Active ingame events
    Fast answers from staff
If i had a problem they solved it in 15 min max .

But yea anyway why are gameforge events so poor compared to Enmasse's events ? Can't you just copy their events and bring it to us ?

If no then please come up with better events and more events . Or take a event master that only foccuses on events .

Im not insulting or raging im just wondering why.

    Regards Blackshock

  • I have to agree with the above posters. As you have most certainly seen, your core playerbase is quite disgruntled over economy, pvp and service among other things. You are naturally always compared to EME, nothing you can do about it. It would have been a really good idea to provide a very generous event. As you can see from the feedback, this is NOT percieved as a generous event. Quite far from it.

To provide even more substantial feedback, I suggest you guys hold a big mother's day event (or something) and advertise it beforehand well too. I doubt there is nothing you can do about the easter event anymore. Many will percieve it as an insult.

  • Oh great, more random keys and timed items.

Instead of providing non constructive feedback, i'll just point out that we still have some issues with items like semi-enigmatic scrolls and spellbinds, plz, do fix that.

And no there is no "hidden" hint about adding them to, who knows, some random event at some random time or lets say, the cash shop.

    Best Regards...

  • on a previous famous f2p game that was published by a german company for europe, there was a big issue between devs (based in china) & eu publisher, huge delays on patchs, no communication, nothing that could help the publisher to make their playerbase enjoy anything else than the game itself. And of course no events, simply because beijing wasn't providing anything.

So the publisher had to do things by themself and be a bit creative. For an easter event, they just used one of the very little right that their gm was allowed to use (they had basically no tools), spawning mobs. So the gms/cm made event, summoned zillions of bunnies, there was no particular rewards as the bunnies weren't dropping anything valuable. It was a "hand-crafted" event, improvised mostly, but yet one of the most memorable event I've been involved into. It was a fail-event ofc, but we could see the CM/GM intentions there, and even the worst haters were just amazed by that.

Then they did other events like this, a town invasion also with huge mobs that raided inside main city and killed all the shops in there (and all afk players). It was a massacre but once more something to remember of.

If you have no control about events, if you can't spawn few mobs here and there or write a droplist for specific mob, I couldn't say if it's because you don't have any internal "dev" able to do such basic things, or if you're not ALLOWED to do it.
But offline events like those ones are good when game isn't released, not when it's live. Common sense anyone ?

A chunk of the playerbase (the one that reached 60) was waiting for events to give some hope about server economy, and giving what is actually missing a lot (like semi-enig, mw alkah, spellbind) to all the servers, but no, just some temp. fashion (which is not so bad eh, but whoaa 10 per language xD).

So you end up with negative feedback, which is sad, but kinda logic. Thanks for the effort, an event is better than nothing, but once again it gonna hurt playerbase. Is that so hard to understand ?

  • Thanks for give us organized GM events.

It may not match people's expectation, but I appreciate the effort in trying to give us something. Thanks.
